Rachel Plummer is the new 5th and 6th grade orchestra director for Muscatine Community Schools. This is her first job teaching orchestra; she taught 5-12 band and K-8 music for three years prior to this in North Central and Northwest Iowa. She is excited to be back in Eastern Iowa, as she grew up in rural Dubuque county and her parents still farm there. She studied String Bass with George Work and holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Iowa State University. Rachel was nominated for the KIMT Golden Apple Award in November of 2014, and she hopes to make the same kind of lasting impression on our students here in Muscatine! When she’s not at school, Rachel enjoys playing piano, trying new recipes, and spending time with her husband, Lee and chihuahua, Lucky.
